Stihl ‘Mercy Dash’.

Classic work from DDB NZ on the follow-up to 2010’s Bequeathed (below) for Stihl. Nice direction too from Robber’s Dog’s Adam Stevens.

Hmmm. Nothing more to add here really.

Why a fictional character is the best copywriter in the world.

So I finally finished Mad Men Season 4 on the weekend. Not sure how I managed to dodge all the potential spoilers for the last year. But hearing the above letter being written / read, gave me copy goosebumps.

Oh crap. Probably too late to yell *Spoiler Alert*, isn’t it?

Chris.

Kristen kills it for Xperia PLAY.

You’ve never straffed before but it feels great! One kill! Two kill! Triple kill bitches, you just hit the fuel tank!

Gosh darnit I love these ads for SonyEricsson’s Xperia PLAY phone. They’re so quotable. At moments intense. And all of the time hilarious.

Kristen Schaal proves that demonstrative ads can be entertaining and that celebrity cameos can make or break an ad. After all, would these be as hilarious if you weren’t watching Mel?

The remaining four ads are embedded below. Or here. Now let’s BLOW SOME SHIT UP!

Gold Coast Advertising at its worsty / besty.

Wow. What to say abut Adrian and Ian’s classy attempt at keeping the realestate business classy?

*Gazes out window to witness a toddler selling meth outside Sorry Grandma and a cop stabbing an old lady for shrapnel*

FYI, yes. I got busted watching this at my desk. I advise discretion in the name of research. More tasteful, single minded greatness below.

WWF Earth Hour - Moths.

Those clever Burnett’s kids Mike Felix and Matt Swinburne along with Plaza’s Dave Kleiber have just sent out their hilarious 2011 Earth Hour reminder, one wek ahead of the big day.

Best TV ad I’ve seen in ages.

ANZ open 24/7.

Hey so here’s a billboard Vijay and I did for ANZ. Excuse the poor quality. We missed the opportunity to shoot it ourselves and had to rely on the media company to supply us with evidence of it’s existence. Learnings for creatives: always make time to shoot your own stuff.

Enjoy in glorious lo-def.

It’s way too early, but happy New Christmas.

Our friends at Special Problems just made this cute little ditty for Vodafone NZ. It must be good because one: I’m a grinch. And two: Optus is our client. Not Voda.

Lebron v Cleveland.

Wow. Cleveland is angry. And not disappointed. Angry. Looks like this grudge could get nasty. Let’s watch, shall we?

Above is the Nike ad. Below, the response.

A fresh start for Realestate.com.au

After recently winning Realestate.com.au as a client, we’re stoked to be releasing our first campaign into the wild. Hats off to Connor and Pepper for this lovely work. Above is the TV / Cinema. Below is a Poster, Lenticular Poster and Digital Outdoor Site.

We hope you like it

Award nom noms - part 2.

MADC is friday night. And while the rest of the department runs around trying to find a mask (masquerade theme? bleh), I thought I’d share our nominations.

First up is the Barbara campaign for ANZ. Above you’ll find Johnny Come Lately, and below is the follow-up, No Means Know. Both are up for Best 45+ Second TV/Cinema. Plus, Doogie has a Best Copywriting nom for Johnny

Award nom noms - part 3.

Next up is The Betfair Bash. Above you can view part of the campaign - a TVC featuring our hero pinata, Pancho. Doogie and Tony commissioned Mother’s Art to create a real life Pancho - which travelled around Spring race days. The campaign continued through-the-line and we hope it wins Best Integrated or Breakthrough Ad

Chris.
