Blinky™ wants to be your friend.

And we all wants a Blinky™. Starring Max Records* of Where The Wild Things fame, Blinky is a futuristic story from the future, in which we all has helpful robots who play hide and seek and perve on babe robots.

There’s currently no official word on whether writer/director Ruairi Robinson** has manufacturing rights to the fictional droid, but me thinks he’s busy in the basement.

*side note: we wants his name.
**double side note: it’s pronounced Raw-Ree and he can keep it.

MK12 are up to no good, again.

Ever since I was a design student, hunched over a G4 in the basement of Massey University until the mysterious hours of every morning, I’ve had a mo-graph crush on MK12.

They had me at UltraLoveNinja and Sweaterporn. Then re-ignited the infatuation with the cowboy-tastic History Of America. And now they’re burning my synapses with what can only be explained as a 3D experiment in the marriage of old school sound-o-files and nu-school-o-animation.

Festival promotion. You’re doing it wrong.

Dudes and dudettes of Tundra*. A few words of advice from ol’ Chillary.

One - don’t call a web video a ‘viral’ if it only has 148 views on YouTube.
Two - take the acid AT the festival. Not before you sit down to animate.
Three - convince your friends at Lovebox to bring their shindig downunder. Holy heck that is a stellar lineup. Grace Jones. Roxy Music. Hot Chip. Yeas… And breathe.

I can’t speak on behalf of every M&Cer, but I’m tempted to call in sick for a few weeks, sell my soul for a ticket to London and get my ass to “the last place of anarchy.”

80kidz know exactly how NY looked in the 80’z.

Every pixel faced boy wore fake leather jackets with blue jeans and imitated MJ on the D-floor. Horses roamed the dutty streets with boomboxes. And nobody gave a care for animal rights. Especially robots.

That’s how Who-fu saw it, and because I wasn’t there, I’m rollin’ with it. Also, Lovefoxxx agrees with the kidz. And her words never lie.

Design Dollars.

A bunch of Canadians slaved away for awhile and walked away with this clever animation for Vancouver Design Week that’s worth it’s weight in awesome.

Edouard Salier directs a massive attack for Massive Attack.

I’m pretty very super overly never-been-more-excited-in-my-life excited about seeing Massive Attack in March. Their new album Heligoland dropped the other day and it kills.

The above film is one of the first to be featured in the band’s Tweatre. (gag!). Apparently you have to log into your twitter to watch them then it automatically lets everyone know you’re yadda yadda ya… The film rules.

Guilty as charged

Today is one of those days. There’s plenty of things to be distracted by.
The digital department is eerily silent. Possibly because of this.
Our creatives are busy doing freelance work on the side so they can buy one of these.
And the suits are busy trying to figure out how to convince Dave we need one of these for the M&C Mansion.

I chose to waste time not writing about these guys.

Chris.
