The Milk - (All I Wanted Was) Danger.

All I want is a voice like The Milk’s Rick Nunn. And a Milk LP. And a little danger.

Also, this: The Milk - Danger Nextmen Remix Feat. Random Impulse by The Nextmen

Adele rolls deep.

But not like, with Dizzy or nuttin. With ballerina samurais and pyros and plate smasherers. And director Sam Brown. It’s all very mesmerising and beautiful and what not.

Keep an eye out for Adele’s forthcoming sophomore, 21. It’s bound to surprise. And below, get some remix in ya. Thanks to High Contrast.

Go All Day with Girl Talk.

The latest GT LP is up on the webz. As usual it’s stacked with mashed tracks. So many samples. So much goodness. What’s best is it’s for freeeez! What’s not best is that Greg’s site has pretty much overloaded from all the traffic. Relax. We’ve embedded the SoundCloud set so we can all listen to All Day, all day.

Let’s get this party started! What’s that? It’s not even midday? Nerds.

Tuesday REEEE-MIIIXXX!

The Prodigy are a coupla years behind on this one. But maybe they’ve just been crafting the what! outta this mix of Jigga’s 99 Problems. Verdict equals yes.

Hello summer festivals pt.4

It’s announcement overload time in Melbourneville. BDO’s got some big names. And today, we got the lowdown on Future Music Fest. Two of my all time big beat/electro favourites are heading to our shores - Primal Scream and The Chemical Brothers. So it’s never been more appropriate to share one of my all time favourite remixes with chas.

Ka-chingo!

Friday mixtape sessions pt.1.

What music keeps the M&C team ticking? I bet you’re dying to know. Here’s a little something I cooked up to get you learned and to get us through til the end of the week.

First up, there’s some Arcade Fire and Mr Ronson - two tracks that’ve been getting an absolute hammering recently. They’re followed by a forthcoming Gorillaz release, and back-to-back M.I.A. tracks (including a “lost” demo). That should get us through ‘til lunch, then a slab of fresh Warpaint, Chromatics and STRFKR joints should help the pub feed settle. To slap us outta the comas, we’ve got a new N.E.R.D & Daft Punk jam, before we switch it up to remix central with a dash of Naked and Famous x Sound of Arrows, La Roux x Data and Shapeshifter x The Upbeats. To top it all off, we’ll smash the latest Converse track featuring Bernard Summer, Hot Chip and Hot City

So now you know. That’s how we (I) do fridays. Bangin’.

Four Tet treats the xx.

The skies just opened up here in Melbournetown, leaving some of us with saturated shoes. Luckily, Four Tet is here to save the dayz with a remix of the xx’s VCR. Give this nine minute doozie a whirl while your sneaks are in the microwave.

Fourtet is kinda threedee.

Lose yourself in the latest vid from English producer Fourtet. Then blame Jon Hopkins for making you lose your train of thought. And go back to doing whatever it was you were doing. Then watch it again to cure your 3:30 itis.

N.A.S.A kick some ass (in docs).

Hey, remember a while ago, we let slip of the Dr Martens 50 year promo thingo? And I said I was looking forward to the N.A.S.A cover? Well here it is. And it’s all claymationy and reggaeish and pretty rad.

Squeek E Clean and DJ Zegon took Max Romeo’s classic Chase The Devil and let Don Letts make it cray-z-z. Enjoy.

Chris.

This weekend disappeared into one continuous gig maelstrom.

With a few sleep breaks and occasionally a break for a breath of new music. Here’s a breakdown:

The new Theophilus London jam hit the streets and instantly violated my speakers.
Mr. Hudson leaked a track from Yeezy’s new album Power.
Here We Go Magic melted the Pailas. Grizzly Bear did OK too.
Jens Lekman proved he’s still incredibly amazing.
LCD and Hot Chip tore Festival Hall a new one.
Opiuo turned it up to 11 at HiFi Bar. Dancing Omelette anyone?
I finally saw Delphic (take that volcanic ash cloud!). And they blew my mindz.
Sleigh Bells’ A/B Machines got a tasty French Horn Rebellion remix.
And now I count down the seconds until The Drums take make me their Best Friend.

Neil Young covers Double Rainbow.

You wish. But here’s Jimmy Fallon impersonating Neil Young doing a song about the stupid Double Rainbow video for which he’s responsible for making viral. Did I lose you?

For those hiding under an internets rock for the past forever, this is Double Rainbow. A homemade vid of Paul Vasquez freaking out over a natural phenomenon. And this is the remix. And this is the stoner himself on Jimmy’s show. And now we’ve gone full circle. It’s postmodernism at its finest.

Music for nerds part 2.

We’re all nerds here. Especially Greg. And AJ. Oh, and Rob. That guy is neeeeerrrrr-dy. So I thought I’d share some super techy beats from Com Truise.

Komputer Cast 1 is a free mix that Skynet would probably listen to to amp itself up before destroying mankind. It’s laid-back, 80’s inspired electronic goodness with a dash of Joy Division. Also recommended: Cyanide Sisters EP.

Music for nerds part 1.

Who doesn’t like a good video game electro remix? I don’t know anyone. Seriously. Everyone I know loves music that sounds like Atari on acid.

First up is A New Challenger! from Tettix. It’s free, but give the guy a donation before he has to sell his prized 8-bit samples for food. Also T.K.O EP is pretty full-on-rad too.
