For the hermits out there, LCD Soundsystem announced ages ago that they’re throwing in the towel. Tears were shed. Riots. Etc.
As a parting gift, the band let Pitchfork stream the whole performance from Madison Square Gardens. If you’re an idiot like me, you missed it, and awoke today to the whole world (including hilarity from Aziz Ansari) hashtagging about it.
Thankfully, some pirate had the genius to rip it and plonk it on the Tube. Now it’s here. And pretty soon the whole office will be getting innocuous.

The fire, The Gardens and the sparklers.
Today, Arcade Fire released an intricate short promo for their upcoming show at Madison Square Gardens. So naturally, I sold my left leg and half a kidney to get the next flight to New York. Turns out that was a bad move. As not only would I be unbalanced in a mosh pit of surely indie kids, but the whole shebang will be broadcast live for YouTubers.
The clip itself is cute and creepy and intricate and makes me wonder two things. Will Clyde Henry direct the first single from the band’s upcoming album The Suburbs? And will the next single be Rococo? And did Win and Regine keep the figurines of each other? I guess I’ll have plenty of time to think about it whilst picking through my in-flight meal.
